2017/18 Winter Round Up – Junior Section
Tuesday night saw the end of winter training for all junior age groups. Working hard across the winter all players can now look forward to getting outside and taking part in the clubs comprehensive spring / summer junior program.
For all players training began in early Feb at Garforth Academy, with the U9s learning the core principles of the game, U11s working mostly in the nets gaining valuable hardball experience. Former India and Yorkshire coach Gian Virdi led the U13/U15 sessions, passing on his insight and wisdom to players. U13/U15 finished last night with an indoor match.
A huge thanks to everybody involved in the 2018 winter sessions and to Leeds City Council Youth Activity Fund for their support.
Preliminary trials have taken place for the 2018 Yorkshire Junior Cricket Festival with some selections already made, from a single trial, others through to round 2 and some 2017 rep players being assessed at a later date due to 1st trail unavailability.
